A good governance advocacy group, the Unity House Foundation , has stated that former President Olusegun Obasanjo spoke for himself, not Nigerians, in his open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.
It noted that the ex-President had an unfettered access to President Buhari to express his views, wondering why he opted for an open letter. It said: “As a former President of this country, Obasanjo has unfettered access to President Buhari, which he ought to have explored. If it became obvious that the President did not want to see ex-President Obasanjo, he could then go public.
The group also challenged the former President on his remarks on Boko Haram insurgency, declaring that contrary to Obasanjo’s claim, insurgency in the Northeast and parts of Northwest had been substantially tackled and reduced to the fringes of Lake Chad.
