Finally, we support state-based organisations, CSOs for contract monitoring: This aims specifically to support locally-based CSOs to monitor projects, carry out advocacies to the government so as to improve service delivery and the lives of members of their communities.

The quest for more fiscal transparency and accountability in public expenditure which is a core benefit of OCDS have attracted the uptake of open contracting by over five states at the subnational level. Through the processes of implementation, PPDC has provided technical support to these states in key areas of deployment and training of their core implementing staff on data collation, cleaning and publication.

Another opportunity that exists for states that are willing to implement open contracting is the support that PPDC offers at no cost. PPDC is willing to provide intellectual and technical support in key areas of OCDS portal deployment and training for personnel for interested states
