The All Progressives Congress, APC, on Saturday, held a successful Congress in the 260 wards across the 17 Local Government Area of Enugu State.DAILY POST Correspondent, who monitored the exercise, reports that a consensus option was adopted in many wards.
At the Minister’s ward in Eke Ward 2, Udi Local Government Area, which is also the ward of the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria, VON, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, two candidates contested for the chairmanship of the party. It was same for the other 26 members of the ward exco, as well as 5 delegates each for the local government and State Congress.
Onyeama called for unity among party members, adding that if the APC would do better in the state, “we must be united”.Chime, who participated in his Udi/Agbudu Ward, Udi LGA commended the party members for conducting themselves in an orderly manner. Meanwhile, the VON DG, Okechukwu, who was absent at the Congress in his ward, is said to be heading the party’s Congress Committee in Kebbi State.
