Residents and traders at Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), on Monday night, scampered to safety as hoodlums stormed the area with arms and ammunition, leaving one person dead.

It was gathered that the crisis was an offshoot of last weekend’s All Progressives Congress local council primaries in the area.

While giving account of what happened, a trader in the area, who gave her name simply as Sikirat, said that about 8.00p.m. a man in his 20s was killed by hoodlums who attacked a rival group. “I really do not know what started the fight, but what I know is that the moment the fight broke out, everyone scampered to safety while the deceased was asked to stay indoors. We did not really know how he got out and died. Until his death, he was a decent gentle boy.”

Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, explained that the agency received a distress call that the station, on the Ikorodu-Epe Expressway, Imota LCDA, Ikorodu, was in flames and immediately two fire stations were mobilised to douse the raging fire.
