Speaking at the presentation of the gift to the school, the association’s National President, Dr Gabriel Aladegbaye-Williams, explained that the renovation and equipping of the school’s biology, chemistry and physics laboratories will further enhance the study of science subjects among the students.
Represented by the association’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr Adedayo Afe, the national president stated, “No doubt, the benefit of a functional and active old students-association can not be overemphasised, and this is evidenced by the laudable project we are commissioning and the expected attendant impacts on the academic advancement of our students.
“This school was 50 years old last year with most of the structures dilapidating, and we the old students association used the landmark golden Jubilee celebration to fix a block of classrooms with the sum of twenty-five million naira only.“We can not do it alone, we need the assistance of the state government and other spirited bodies and individuals to upgrade the dilapidated infrastructures in this citadel learning.
He stressed that the old students’ associations in the state were among the most responsible across the country.
