A 23-year-old lady, Motunrayo Balogun, yesterday in Ondo State attempted suicide by drinking pesticide, after she was allegedly dumped by her boyfriend.

The lady, a hairstylist, was said to have taken the poisonous substance in her residence at Ijapo Estate axis in Akure South Local Government Area of the state where her mother found her unconscious.

According to some residents, Balogun’s mother suddenly saw her lying on the floor in her room breathless, with an empty bottle of pesticide in her hands, after which she was rushed to the nearest hospital, where she was revived.
