A manhunt was launched yesterday for the arrest of a fleeing commercial motorcycle rider, also known as okada rider, who allegedly killed a landlord at Agbon, Iyana Church area of Ibadan.

The suspect reportedly took to his heels after killing Asiru Adebayo early yesterday morning, following an argument over the conversion and use of the frontage of the victim’s house by commercial motorcyclists for their businesses.

An argument was said to have ensued after the suspect accused the landlord of sweeping the dirt on the floor on him and his mates. Emotions boiled as the suspect allegedly attacked the landlord resulting in a scuffle and the death of the victim. Reacting to the incident, Baale of the Agbo Community, Chief Lamidi Salawu, blamed it on the recalcitrant attitude of the Okada riders in trespassing the late Adebayo’s property.
