Ogun motorist hospitalised after police shooting at checkpoint, cop arrested - Punch Newspapers

A motorist, identified only as Akorede, has been shot by a policeman attached to the Ogun State Police Command.gathered that the victim was driving on Wednesday when some policemen in Oru, in the Ijebu Ode area of the state, stopped him.

The officers were said to be searching his vehicle when one of them suddenly brought out a gun and shot him in the leg.claimed that Akorede did nothing to warrant the attack. “Police brutality is still ongoing. This happened during a stop and search in Odogbolu, Ijebu Ode, yesterday, 13th October, 2021. The victim, Akorede, was stopped and suddenly this police officer brought out his gun and shot him without provocation,”A video clip attached to the post showed the victim writhing in pain while sitting in a red car, as blood dripped from his leg.
