This was contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Kunle Somorin, on Monday.
Somorin stated that the disengaged Npower beneficiaries could venture into various agricultural intervention programmes of the Ogun State government. It was gathered that the programmes are particularly designed to encourage start-up agric-businesses and promote up-scaling of smallholders’ farmers. Some of the programmes they can participate in include Anchor Borrowers’, Central Bank of Nigeria Cocoa Development Initiative, Oil Palm Intervention Programme, Fertilizer Intervention, Ogun State Economic Transformation Programme , GIZ Tomato/Chilli Pepper, Ogun State Broiler Project and the Agric-Business/Small and Medium Enterprise Investment Scheme .
Somorin added that apart from the listed opportunities, the State Ministry of Agriculture also provides Supplementary Extension Service and Agro-Input delivery to support farmers activities in the State.
