Offa Descendants’ Union (ODU) has disagreed with a comment credited to Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Afe Babalola, that Erin Ile won the 1973 land case at the Supreme Court.

In a statement signed by its National General Secretary, Muideen Ibrahim, ODU described the comment as highly prejudicial and intended to influence the panel constituted by the Kwara State Government as well as the general public against Offa.

Babalola had been quoted as warning the Kwara State Governor over the case, adding that the apex court gave the disputed land to Erin Ile. “Offa will present its position to the panel at the most appropriate time. But the Supreme Court judgment of 1973 did not award any part of Offa land to Erin Ile,” he stated.
