The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reacted to an advertisement trending on social media sponsored by khaki_corper requesting prospective corps members to pay N50,000 for some listed items which they will need in camp.

NYSC said it has no hands in such an advertisement, which is conceived as another attempt by some individuals to rip parents and their wards mobilised for the service of their hard earned money.

'We once again seize this opportunity to inform our prospective Corps Members and their parents that all required kit items, feeding, accommodation and other welfare packages required during orientation are provided free of charge by the Federal Government,' a statement signed by Eddy Megwa, Director, Press and Public Relations of the NYSC, said. 'Corps members are therefore not required to pay for services or uniforms which will be provided in the orientation camps.
