National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Kwara Council, has suspended its 21-day strike ultimatum issued to the state government over poor

A letter to the state Governor, Malam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Aminu Shehu and Markus Lukas respectively, said the decision followed the express approval of the council’s demand by the governor.

The demands include among others, recruitment of more nurses into the health sector, upward review of CONHESS from 70%-100%, implementation of hazard allowance , and implementation of uniform allowance. “As a result of the aforementioned approval of our demands by his Excellency, the leadership of the association wishes to suspend the 21-day ultimatum issued,” the letter stated.

“While waiting for the cash backing, within the month, we appeal to our members to remain calm and committed to their service to humanity,” the council added. The association prayed God to uplift and grant Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq more wisdom to pilot the affairs of the state.
