Following Sanusi's reinstatement, the Kano State deputy governor, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, claimed Ribadu provided a private jet to aid the return of the deposed emir, Aminu Ado-Bayero, back to Kano State. The former emir was smuggled into Kano city last night in an attempt to forcefully return him to the palace two days after being deposed.
In a brief interview at the emir’s palace in Gidan Rumfa, Gwarzo claimed that the NSA arranged for two aircraft to transport the sacked monarch back to the state. Reacting, Ribadu denied the allegation, describing it as false. The spokesman of ONSA, Mallam Zakari Mijinyawa, insisted that Ribadu did not provide the aircraft that returned the sacked emir to Kano.
