The Council of Imams and Ulama on Saturday said the claims that only Christians are being kidnapped in Kaduna State, were false.

They argued that politicising security matters would only set the stage for an ethno-religious crisis in the state.

According to him, it was divisive and false that claims that kidnappers only abduct Christians in Kaduna State. He said, “Along Birnin Gwari-Kaduna Road alone, between 22nd June and 30th July 2019, over 55 persons have been kidnapped and over 20 persons were killed, including five Nigerian Air Force and Army personnel, according to news reports.
