Chairman of the forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, in a condolence message on Thursday, described the death of Hauwa Buratai as a great loss to her family, Borno State and the nation in general.
Lalong said, “We share in this painful loss and deeply commiserate with the Chief of Army Staff, who has devoted his career and energy to the fight against terrorism, banditry as well as other crimes that threaten Nigeria’s territorial integrity. We pray that the Almighty God will grant the soul of the departed matriarch eternal rest and comfort the family.”
Similarly, the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, also sent condolences to the government and people of Sokoto and Zamfara states over the death a former civilian governor of the old Sokoto State, Dr Garba Nadama. Lalong, who conveyed the condolence message in statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Makut Macham, expressed sadness over the death of Nadama, who he said was not only a great historian, but a major source of inspiration and institutional capacity-building for governance in Nigeria.All rights reserved.
