The Federal Government announces that non-academic staff members of universities will receive half of their withheld salaries if approved by President Bola Tinubu. The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) express their dissatisfaction with the government's decision to pay withheld salaries to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) while neglecting the non-academic unions.

The Federal Government says non-academic staff members of universities will get half of their withheld salaries should President Bola Tinubu approve the payment of their salary arrears.programme on Wednesday, argued that members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union were not on strike for the same period in 2022 as their academic counterparts.to protest their withheld salaries by the Federal Government .

SSANU and NASU accused the Federal Government of unfair treatment and discrimination by failing to pay them like their academic counterparts.Asked what has delayed the payment to NASU and SSANU members, the minister said, “No, it has not been approved”.
