The opposition lawmakers in the National Assembly have said there is no going back on their resolve to impeach the President, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), if he fails to address the insecurity in the country within six weeks.

But the spokesperson for the Senate, Ajibola Bashiru, said the senate was not aware of any impeachment threat as no official correspondence had been given on it.

Meanwhile, a prominent member of the minority caucus in the National Assembly said the opposition lawmakers were watching the moves being made by the executive arm as well as the meeting between the Senate leadership and security chiefs. Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Benjamin Kalu, said the opposition lawmakers seemed to have agreed that the available time was inadequate to impeach the President.

He noted that section 143 of the 1999 Constitution prescribes various timeframes for each of the processes. Ndume stated, “The problem is that the military is not well equipped. The equipment is just coming now in bits. I am not aware that they have received the attack helicopters ordered. The problem is that the money is either not released to them or the money is too small.

The Borno senator reacted to the delayed payment of troops on the battlefields, saying, “I read yesterday that they were complaining about their money. While people are saying they are spending so much and soldiers are saying they have not been paid salaries, can’t you add it up? “They take delivery of this equipment piecemeal because they are not things that one can buy over the shelf. But I know that a substantial amount of the equipment was actually brought into the country and they have started using them.’’

The usual political drama to distract our attention at the end of every presidents' tenure. It will not help us now. Please focus on your constituencies and develop them with their monies you have embezzled.

Stupid and foolish law buhary is dead

Mumu nation impeaching a man that has less than 6montgs to go

Waste of time. WE THE PEOPLE will impeach all of you with our PVCs soonest. Very irresponsible and fantastically corrupt individuals making use of the National Assembly.

LONG OVERDUE

Quickly Quickly

Bunch of noisemakers

Have you guys seen the procedures of impeaching a president? The process and procedures are cumbersome even if the whole NA want him out. Before they succeed the election would have come and gone. NA should carryout their oversight functions effectively and ensure funds allocated

So these lawmakers slept for 7 years plus? They've just woken up, right? Their brains must have been in a recession. Useless selfish individuals. Nonsense

Let's see how they will do it, Buhari wey be iron man😊

It's quite unfortunate dat u guys are trying 2 impreach him cuz Abuja is unsafe bt on d ground scale of things, Buhari is a colossal failure. If 2 say he use $1.96bn wey he use build Niger Republic railway &N1.45bn for their cars, Nigerian students should be in sch by now

He must finish what he started... The lawmakers should stop distracting us and get busy with something else.

When and what holds you?

Until this guy malu finish us before una go impeach am

Lolz Nigeria my cruising country 🤣🤣

This is coming late and I don't think impeachment will affect him in any way because they needed to have done it two years ago but it was foiled at the attempt.

We need actions, too much of talk.

Una want use style comot the imposter wey dey Aso Rock 😂. So that North go vex vote APC back we sabi una plan..

Buhari must complete his remaining months of tenure

Buhari must go
