No community demanded N500m from airport contractors, says Enugu government | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News

Describing the news as misleading and baseless, the Commissioner for Information, Nnanyelugo Aroh, said it was calculated to embarrass the government and draw bad blood. Aroh stressed the commitment of the state government to the timely completion of the rehabilitation, adding that no such demand was made in the state. He added that the state government had not received any complaint from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria or the contractors handling the all-important project.

“It is a fact, and which has been publicly acknowledged severally by the Minister of Aviation and the management of FAAN that the Enugu State Government has provided the required support in respect of the upgrading of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu,” Aroh said.

“The Enugu State Government under the leadership of Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will continue to provide every support needed to ensure the quick completion of the upgrade of the airport.”
