NLC Accuses Ngige Of Delay In Issuing Circular For Minimum Wage Implementation

Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress are accusing the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, of delaying in issuing the circular for the minimum wage implementation.

The union disclosed this on Monday while staging a peaceful protest outside the Federal Secretariat in Abuja. They also accused the minister of using thugs against them when they protested at his residence last week. The National President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba who led the protest is also accusing the minister of dragging his foot on sending the circular which will ensure the implementation of the new minimum wage.

Aside from the minimum wage, the labour movement is also seeking clarification on why mister Frank Kokori who was initially appointed as the chairman of National social insurance trust fund in 2017 was replaced.

NLC should take it easy. I've said before it is between to jaw jaw than to war war 🤔 The way they're going they seem to have drawn the battle line between labour & Ngige. Ngige is a fighter who can stick to his decision not minding who's ox is gored. Dialogue is essential.
