The Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Police Force says it has neutralised six members of a criminal gang terrorising the East-West Road axis in Emohua Local Government Area of the state. The command in a statement issued on Friday, signed by it spokesperson SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said that six other members of the gang were equally arrested.

"On sighting the police operatives, the hoodlums in their numbers opened fire on them. A quick response by the operatives neutralized and dislodged the miscreants as they scampered for safety and bowed to superior fire-powe; six were neutralised and six others arrested."

According to the statement, operatives of the command on July 6, 2023 acting on credible information, trailed kidnappers to their hideout at Ozuaha Community in Ikwerre LGA, and rescued their victim unhurt, while one Mr. Buchi David was arrested as suspect.
