Nigerian govt spending much on fuel subsidy; should increase VAT — Fashola

The minister said his ministry did not receive up to N1 trillion naira from 2015 to 2018, underscoring how little the Nigerian government is spending on infrastructural development compared with fuel subsidy.“If we had N1 trillion to spend on Nigerian roads we would be in a much better position. As of October, we were owing contractors N306 billion and more bills are coming in and all we got was N73billion,” Punch quoted him as saying.

The minister expressed regret that despite the very limited resources available for infrastructure development, some persons were kicking against an increase in Value Added Tax, as proposed by the Federal Government. He also disclosed that the Federal Government would introduce tolls on roads after a clear policy on it had been finalised and made public.

Fashola is the most unfortunate(oloriibu) person in Nigeria. He deserves an accolade

I wonder where these people get this killing idea from! If I hear, increase what! Is this man not in Nigeria! They have succeeded in distributing poverty virtually to every door step, if not for God

But Bubu said there's nothing like subsidy that it's a fraud?

Esir, can't you just be silent? let Garba and Bashir do the unintelligent talks, they are paid for that and you arent the govt's spokesman, stop being soiling yourself with this unnecessary talks. thanks sir

I'm beginning to suspect they sent this man.

Please let us keep Fashola in our prayers at this trying time of his.

Stupid man

It’s so absurd coming from someone who has a ridiculous pension.
