The Federal Executive Council has approved the sum of N27.46billion as relief fund for states affected by insecurity and displacement.

Atiku Bagudu, Governor of Kebbi State, who is also vice chairman of the National Food Security Council , while speaking with newsmen, said the intervention fund was recommended by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led NFSC.Bagudu said the government is keen on “helping people restore their livelihood, particularly agricultural activities".

The government also provided N18.942billion for supply of seedlings, agro chemicals and fertilisers to 163,117 beneficiaries in 14 states, namely: Adamawa, Anambra, Beyelsa, Benue, Delta, Edo, Jigawa, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Rivers, Sokoto and Taraba.
