The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has knocked the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Nigerian government for “deliberately and consciously” destroying public universities to promote private ones owned by the political class. The ASUU branch in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State, stated this in a release on Saturday by its chairman, Okey Aniebo, and secretary, David Enibe. The union noted that the government had been dribbling the union since 2017 and was not sincere in finding a lasting solution to ASUU/Federal Government impasse.

The ASUU branch in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State, stated this in a release on Saturday by its chairman, Okey Aniebo, and secretary, David Enibe. ASUU said, “It is unfortunate that the Federal Government has been adopting lies, blackmail deceit and delay tactics to continue to renege on the 2009 ASUU FGN Agreement, the Federal Government is calculatingly dribbling ASUU since 2017 in finding solution to ASUU and FGN face-off.

“Even the Prof. Ali Munzuali and Prof. Nimi Briggs Committee, set up by the Federal Government to renegotiate the 2009 FGN ASUU Agreement, was not taken serious by the Federal Government and was frustrated by the same government that set it up."

OBJ is governor general of pdp and the king maker i don't need Google to know that any leader that will emerge in this country knows the road to Otta farm the chat we is always going to be our reference February is just here you will know that no be noise be music

Funny fact, kids of senior lecturers and professors study in either private universities or abroad, playing with the future of Nigerians and furthering selfish agendas

And ASUU played along with them.

To continue with their exploitation of the masses, it will never be well with them. Nigerians should wake up to remove APC from Aso Rock, it is a collective task.

Stop the use of students as tools to push your selfish demands. Be considerate

ASUU and FG are paving way for private universities. Though, both ASUU and FG are right. Since they are both fighting for our (students) right.

This is a politically calculated plan by the Fulani caliphate to destroy western education in the zoo because it is Haram to them. But unfortunately nigerians can't decode their message because they lack proper sense of reasoning.

Snd the same lectures employed by the Government lecturing in the Institutions set up by the political Class. Simply accept IPPIS simple if u don’t have skeletons in your cupboards

Are they also importing lecturers too?! Please ASUU inform us!

Western education is a sin by boko haram formed by Muhammad Buhari so they are finishing their Islamization agenda, so you people shouldn’t see it as a new thing

This is just way to promote private institution in Nigeria, this people are only trying to slave us only God can deliver Nigeria

We all know the truth, keeping us at home is not the solution, suspend the strike

It's very obvious majority of the people in power have universities on their list as wealth to kill the public universities they all attended back then however today it's nothing to them again.

Story for the gods...na shame go kill Asuu Las las

The emergence of private Universities all across the country is synonymous to that.
