The Bishop of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Kwara Diocese, Rt Rev. Sunday Adewole, said, yesterday, in Ilorin, that Nigeria would soon emerge one of the greatest world economies.

Adewole said this during Easter service at the Cathedral of Saint Barnabas Anglican Church, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, Kwara State, that despite current economic doldrums in Nigeria, better and brighter days are ahead of the nation and its people. He said: “We should be hopeful in a seeming hopeless situation, because the Lord is there; He has the ability to turn things around for good.”

Speaking on the essence of Easter festivities, Bishop Adewole said: “Easter is commemoration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today, Jesus rose to defeat Satan and to open the gate of eternity for believers; today is important, because if there is no resurrection, there will be no Christianity. He rose that we may have confidence that even after this world there will be place in the Kingdom.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor called on Nigerians to take advantage of the period to seek God’s favour for the country and eschew divisive tendencies.

I enjoyed reading his articles alongside those of Mumini_Alao in Complete Sports in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I remember spending my pocket money on CS every Monday, just to read Mumini_Alao's article back then. Hummmm, Nigeria, naa waa ooo. My question is simply, the technology used by other nations to grow and maintain their playing field, can't we have the same in Nigeria? We have universities, private and public, to feed animal no grass! What can we do without involving foreigners?
