Nigeria Marks Eid-El-Fitr Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Some Muslims gather at a praying ground in Katsina State in commemoration of the Eid-El-Fitr on May 24, 2020.Muslims in Nigeria have joined their counterparts around the world to mark the Eid-El-Fitr as they bid farewell to the fasting month of Ramadan.

Eid-El-Fitr means “festival of breaking the fast” and celebrations would normally begin depending on the sighting of the moon. According to him, the pandemic caught the world off guard and has dampened what would otherwise have been a time of celebration for the Muslim faithful. President Buhari listed them to include the routine congregations for prayer and the recitation and interpretation of the Holy Qur’an, as well as travelling for the lesser pilgrimage to Makkah.

No physical distancing here at all. Pls the interstate restriction should continue o

It is Right?

Alhamdullilah

Next time u report it in truth, Northern Nigerians celebrate Eid ignoring the pandemic.

I don't see any social distancing.....🤔😒

I think C.A.N. Should wake up. People gathered in more than 19 States to celebrate Eid, but some people in power forbade the church from celebrating Easter. They're speaking against Bishop Oyedipo and others who spoke against the injustice in Nigeria. God is watching!

They break Fast and break the rules. Shame.

No social distance!

Favourism and nepotism nothing like gathering during easter

Nepotism is why we are not going forward. Blame no one but urself

This is another disaster to the community and to the entire country....no distancing.

Despite Sultan of Sokoto suspension three days ago

This people with their ignorant ways of life they can't even observe social distancing. Over there at Saudi, social gathering for prayers was discouraged, do they want to be holier than Pope?

No social distancing as am seeing

Ignorance is indeed a disease.

They allowed them pray but they did not allow us to go to church
