Kukah noted that there was a lot of"resentment, anxiety and frustration" from those who were alive during the war as the country had not recovered from the wounds of the civil war, 51 years after it endedThe Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese and elder statesman, Matthew Kukah, on Thursday expressed regret that Nigerians and the country's leaders did not learn any lesson from the 1967-1970 civil war.

The ‘Never Again Conference’ was organised by Nzuko Umunna, a pan-Igbo socio-cultural organisation, which organised the first edition in Lagos in 2020. He said, “I have met a lot of people who fought the war who are full of regrets. There is a lot of resentment, anxiety and frustration that we have not learnt any lessons.

“ Oputa panel managed to generate quite a lot of data and information that academicians and policymakers would have used to ensure we erect the signpost saying, ‘Never Again’, because it gave us an opportunity, a mirror to look at ourselves after hearing from all sides but we didn’t have the discipline to follow through.

I would have supported Kukah if he has said this in 16years of PDP regime. Some benefits from the current government is missing. Wara ko si loni ,wara nbo lola, don't worry Sir, no civil war again in Nigeria.

Fact

You are one of those trying to incite war.

This man should just shut tha fuck up!

Awolowo made sure the relief was blocked during the war, made sure the money in the banks were taken away from the Biafrans, made sure their properties were taken away from them especially in the south so as to create divisions among them. Ojukwu released him from the prison.

There should be no Nigeria is the first place...a country forged from greed and anarchy knows no progress and peace

Keep on firing from all your available cylinders Bishopkukah.

KuKah speak up.

let's follow each other. Follow me I follow back immediately. Unfollow me if I don't follow back.

Kukah more of that sir.

The truth is we actually didn't learn anything from the civil war.

May God almighty continue to protect you Padre! We need more people to speak up. I just hope this will not be translated in to religious attack again.

Is that why you're advocating for another war?

More of you sir. Continue to educate us on the rutting system.

Is peace in poverty, bad educational system, bad infrastructure, peace. We are at war. This is economic and political war. War between good and evil.
