Nigeria: crossroads of ghastly fate

Nigeria today lies at the crossroads of an uncertain destiny. At one end are itinerant presidents/heads-of-state who rendezvous in a floundering ship amidst stormy seas. At another are routine lieutenants who, as waiters and waitresses at the buffet of depravity, have perfected strategies of swapping nomenclatures: now governors, soon senators, ministers.

As members of the unfortunate entity, all we see is gloom and doom, and a tunnel ending in pit darkness. No light except that as hoped, and hopes here often remain forlorn fancies. Though they be spread across differing divides, the jobbers are united in deeds, much as they reflect similarity to purloin patrimonies to fester fiefdoms. Balkanised commonwealth flying on the orders of blighted musketeers: end-time lords set on a goal to sink the collective deeper, deeper despair.

How the projects they commission rage against reason in valuation! But unreason is basic resource in the scheme to bleed the till. The cash awarded for one is enough for a hundred! This is crookery via fake tenders! The balance of ninety-nine is what has sealed our fate to cater to their interests at election times, and serve them as drivers, cooks, guards, and low-grade support hands post-polls, as we await another.
