A non-profit organisation, Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre has trained 700 grassroots leaders in how to help curb sexual gender-based violence and gender-based violence.

The event, which was held in Airport Hotel, Ikeja Lagos, had women leaders from all spheres of life, including market women, educationists, artisans, religious leaders, parents, and people living with disabilities.

Speaking at the event, the deputy director of WARDC and a programme coordinator for UN women, Mrs Mary Peluola said the essence of the community dialogue was to build solidarity, accountability, and commitment to Ending Violence Against Women and Girls in Lagos State. According to her, the training is cut across looking at the critical stakeholders within Lagos state and see how we are going to engage them, train them and build a voice around ending gender-based violence against women and girls across the state.All rights reserved.
