The Chris Igbokwe Foundation says it has awarded Nigeria Certificate in Education scholarships to 20 internally displaced persons (IDPs).

According to a statement on Monday, Chris Igbokwe, president of the foundation, said the selected IDPs are those living in Wasa community in the federal capital territory .Igbokwe said 10 females and 10 males from Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states were study at Grand Plus College of Education in Ilorin, Kwara state.He said the awardees will pursue careers in ICT, entrepreneurship, agriculture, and home economics.

“Boko Haram attacks have led to massive internal displacement. More than 1.8 million Nigerians are displaced in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states, with the vast majority located in Borno,” he said.“You don’t have to be a politician to help the masses. We will continue to spread these philanthropic gestures to many Nigerians. As God gives us, we must extend the same to God because we are partnering with God.
