This commitment was made in a brief he released after a high-level dinner meeting at the Global Energy Transition Congress on Sunday, where he engaged with prominent global leaders, including former US Special Presidential Envoy on Climate, John Kerry, and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair. Ngelale’s focus on green economic opportunities aligns with the global shift towards sustainable energy solutions.His leadership is crucial in harnessing the energy transition to drive economic growth and development in Africa while addressing the continent’s unique climate challenges.
“I was humbled and honoured by the opportunity to exchange views over dinner with former U.S. Special Presidential Envoy on Climate, H.E. John Kerry, former UK Prime Minister, H.E. Tony Blair, ex-CNN Global Emerging Markets Editor, Mr. John Defterios, and other high-level dignitaries at the Global Energy Transition Congress on Sunday night in Milan, Italy.
“I was struck by the increasing prioritization of climate justice in the global south, and my focus remains on steering the energy transition toward green economic opportunity for Nigerians and Africans at large”, he said.
