The planned attacks on some parts of the country, especially the rising insecurity in the federal capital territory (FCT) dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that there are strong indications that ISWAP and Boko Haram were planning to attack some states in the north-west, north-central and south-west. The newspaper says the federal government said there is no immediate solution to the crisis in the aviation sector.

The Nation says two officers and six soldiers attached to the guards brigade were killed in the ambush by terrorists in Bwari, FCT. The newspaper reports that the Nigeria Labour Congress has warned the federal government to act fast on the ongoing strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities to forestall a shutdown of the economy.

The Guardian reports that Abuja residents are on high alert over planned terrorists’ attacks on the FCT. The newspaper says there is anxiety in Lau LGA of Taraba over the death of 10 persons owing to a cholera outbreak. Daily Trust reports that the northern region is lagging behind in continuous voter registration as the deadline nears. The newspaper says bandits killed six people in Taraba and Katsina, and abducted 36 in Kaduna.

Daily Sun reports that the Nigeria Labour Congress has threatened to stop the 2023 elections if the federal government does not resolve the ASUU strike. The newspaper says a London court granted bail to Beatrice Ekweremadu while her husband remains in custody.
