The crisis involving the executive and legislature in Rivers took a new turn as Siminalayi Fubara, governor of the state, directed the relocation of the assembly quarters.Daily Trust reports that Yahaya Bello, former governor of Kogi, has finally agreed to appear before the federal high court in Abuja for arraignment on June 13. The newspaper says bandits killed at least 30 farmers and a cleric during an attack on two farming communities in Zamfara.

Tribune reports that Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president of Nigeria, has assured that the leadership crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party will soon be resolved. The security agencies have launched an operation to rescue the nine students of Confluence University of Science and Technology , Kogi, who were abducted on Thursday night by gunmen.
