Reports on the presidential election petition tribunal and the effects of petrol subsidy removal, including the hike in school fees and transport fares, dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Guardian reports that Taoreed Abiodun, chief of army staff, has launched a special operation to tackle the violent attacks in Mangu LGA of Plateau and other parts of the state. The newspaper says the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology said it will begin the conversion of petrol vehicles to gas-powered engines in the next two to three weeks.
