THERE are indications that the Federal Government is under intense pressure from some politicians and contractors allegedly indicted by the Niger Delta Development Commission’s forensic audit report.

Recall that the document was presented to the minister by his counterpart in the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio. However, an Abuja-based source told one of our correspondents that the delay in releasing the NDDC forensic report was not unconnected to furtive moves by some politicians and contractors, who were allegedly indicted by the report, to stop its publication.

The source said, “Those indicted know that they have committed atrocities. To say that the Attorney General is under pressure not to release the document is an understatement. There is no doubt that he is under intense pressure.
