The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board has urged the leadership of the Ijaw Youths Council to use its position to ensure peace in the Niger Delta to enable businesses to thrive unhindered.
The Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Simbi Wabote, said this during a four-day retreat for the IYC leadership, Central Zone, held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Wabote said the training was aimed at engendering rapid development in the host communities of indigenous and international companies operating in the region.
Wabote, who was represented by the General Manager, Corporate Communications and Zonal Coordination, Dr Ginah Ginah, said, “IYC is the dominant youth body, so if you can get the IYC to educate the people in their area then we will have a very good and conducive environment, so we do this regularly for every executive of the IYC that comes on board and we are seeing benefits in terms of a peaceful environment.
