Men of the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base , Igbokoda, Ondo State, at the weekend, busted an illegal refinery in Ilaje Local Council of Ondo State.

According to the Commanding Officer of the Base, Navy Captain Wasuku Alushi, the illegal refinery was discovered through intelligence, after which a coordinated surface and air assault with a Naval helicopter was launched. “This need to involve the helicopters was informed by an earlier threat assessment of the environment. We assessed that we needed an additional layer of protection from the air as well as precision in order to avoid collateral damage to nearby national assets.”

Two Southwest socio-political and cultural groups, Afenifere and Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum , have urged the Federal Government to, as a matter of urgency, come down heavily on all terrorists, kidnappers and their sponsors. Rebuild Arewa Initiative for Development , has condemned the Senate’s decision to suspend senator Abdul Ningi, for three months for expressing concern over irregularities in the 2024 national budget.

As part of its signature projects, the Rotary Club of Lagos Festac Metropolitan has donated over 40 safe birth kits to pregnant mothers in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State.
