The Enugu State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has threatened to embark on a street protest should the Nigerian government fail to address the challenge of naira scarcity and a hike in the price of fuel. Addressing journalists in Enugu, the chairman of the chapter, Henry Ifeanyichukwu said that the council was concerned by the hike in fuel price and scarcity of the new notes which according to him, has caused untold hardship to the people.

The youth group called on managers of all bank branches in Enugu state to work with the Central Bank of Nigeria to ensure that money is made available.
