National, State Assembly Bye-Elections Hold Dec․ 5

The Independent National Electoral Commission Friday announced that bye-elecrions into vacant National and States ‘ Assembly will hold December 5.

In a statement by the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Voter Education and Publicity, Festus Okoye, he said the commission arrived at the date after series of consultations where it reviewed its quarterly engagements and consultations with critical stakeholders in the electoral process. The Commission met again on Thursday, 5th November 2020 and reviewed the situation and during which it noted among other things the extensive damage to and vandalization of its local government offices and facilities, which affected some areas where the bye-elections were scheduled to hold.
