The Plateau state government says it has cleared N3.9 billion out of the inherited N4.6 billion salary arrears of local government workers.The commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Chief Ephraim Usman revealed that the Mutfwang administration had cleared salary and pension arrears owed local government workers across the 17 LGAs of the state.
He said: “The present administration inherited 4.6 billion salaries and pension arrears from the previous administration at the LGAs level. He also stated that the ministry, in partnership with ALGON, purchased 35 Hillux vehicles for Operation Rainbow to enhance the security architecture at the grassroots level.
The commissioner also announced plans to digitize processing of local government marriages certification, as well as the processing and issuance of Indigene Certificates which will be linked with individuals National Identity Number .
