Respected gospel artiste, Mr. Bigger Jonathan Ibekwe, has surfaced with a didactic bop dubbed Umuaka, which offers commentary on the gory socio-political realities in the country.

Set for release on May 27 countrywide, Umuaka, which is an Igbo translation for Children, calls for the inclusion of more youths in change-making policies and leadership.

Explaining the inspiration behind the song, Mr. Bigger explained that he draws from the Holy bible, “In the book of Luke 18:16, Jesus Christ admonished his disciples to allow the children come unto him, telling them for such-minded is the Kingdom of God. “Their minds are so pure that they do not become entangled with fetish or everyday things. The song moves children from moral lessons to political issues, instilling in them the belief that readers are world leaders. To be fulfilled in life, they must be morally upright, obey their teachers, and parents.”

Umuaka remains one of the few songs, with a keen focus on children’s issues, as well as a touch of subtle socio-political commentary. It interestingly shines with its neat blend of Igbo and English, which he claims depicts his stance on the unification of Nigeria.
