Nigerians are in for more economic challenges following the proposed increase in the price of sachet water popularly called ‘pure water’ from N200 to N300 per

It is no doubt that most Nigerians rely solely on sachet water because of its chapter rate to substitute bottle water in the absence of a hygienic pipe-borne water supply in the country.

The Association of Table Water Producers said it had to increse the price from N200 to N300 per bag with immediate effect, because of the hike in the price of production materials. The national president of the association, Mrs. Clementina Ativie in a press briefing, explained that the decision was unanimously reached during ATWAP national convention in Abuja on Wednesday.

Ativie said the change in the price was a result of the increase in the prices of materials, and the coupled economic situation of the country.“We hereby declare that the price of sachet water popularly known as pure water is now N300 per bag as the company price. There will be no extra bags or extra pieces henceforth for wholesale or retail buyers, the increase in the price is due to the cost of the increase in production materials.
