The summit of a 2-day event with the theme: Sanitation Innovations for Economic Development was targeted at high level decision makers, traditional and non-traditional sector, stakeholders from across the world.
Speaking during the summit, the minister of the ministry, Engr Suleiman Adamu said the summit has been hosted by different countries of the world but this will make the second time of its kind in the African country where the South Africa hosted the summit in 2012. The World Toilet Day or WTS by the WTO was established in 2001 to drive the global interventions towards improved sanitation exercises.
Adamu also stated that this year’s summit in collaboration with government of Nigeria and private, OPWASh, was to bring together government actors, private sectors players, water and sanitation partners, development partners, NGOS and other stakeholder sectors to highlight sanitation issue and bring it to greater focus.
