The Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen has on behalf of Nigerian women demanded that the 35 per cent affirmative action in favour of the female gender be taken into consideration in the current

effort by the National Assembly to review the 1999 constitution.

Tellen said this in a key not address presented on her behalf by her Special Assistant, Jummai Adonijie, during the opening ceremony of national review conference with the theme. ‘25 years since Beijing: Accelerating commitments in Nigeria,’ organised by the Nigerian Women Trust Fund, with support from Ford Foundation, in Abuja, on Tuesday.
