The Nigeria Labour Congress on Monday said more than one-third of 36 states of the federation were not paying the N30,000 minimum wage.and Channels Television, said some states were only implementing the minimum wage for workers at grade level one to six.

The labour leader said some governors could not address their workers during the May Day ceremony on Saturday because they had nothing to tell them. He said the failure of states to pay the minimum wage was a violation of the Act, stressing that the workers would withdraw their services in states that had refused to pay the new wage.
