…as Okowa tasks Defence on troops’ welfare National military strategy, developed to provide a platform upon which Nigeria’s joint and respective security services doctrines will stand, has been launched.

Disclosing this, yesterday, in Asaba, Delta State, while welcoming guests to a four-day brainstorming retreat for top echelon of serving and retired military officers, tagged ‘Asaba 2022,’ with the theme, ‘Shaping the Armed Forces of Nigeria for Current and Future Security Challenges,’ the Chief of Defence Staff , Gen. Lucky Irabor, said the strategy would help to reshape the military towards fighting future security challenges.

On his part, Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, called on military authorities to prioritise the welfare of officers and men of the armed forces to motivate them in the fight against insurgency and other violent crimes in the country.
