Confirming the incident, yesterday, in Maiduguri, a counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed: “A large number of the terrorists laid an ambush for the troops on patrol and began firing from gun trucks and motorcycles,” adding that the military overcame in the nearly one-hour gun duel.“The troops captured a gun truck after killing its occupants, while nine AK-47 rifles and motorcycles each were also recovered.
“No fatalities were recorded on the side of troops, as only two soldiers were injured and evacuated for treatment at a Maiduguri hospital.”
