Following the military coup in Guinea, a mission of the Economic Community of West African States will visit the country today .

According to the communique, the visit to the country by ECOWAS mission would be led by Ghanaian Foreign Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchweu with representatives from Burkina Faso, Nigeria and the ECOWAS Commission. ECOWAS, therefore, enjoined the defense and security forces to maintain a constitutional posture, while demanding for the immediate restoration of civilian rule in Guinea.
