“I haven’t been part of many mixed relays so it is fun to get out with guys and girls,” said Australia’s Brianna Throssell. Australia are the current world champions after Britain won in 2015 before the United States took the title two years later. “It’s a new race and it’s entertaining. You might be leading by 100 then someone else takes over which is the fun of it.”Teams are made up of two women and two men, with each of the four swimmers allocated to one of the four traditional medley strokes -– backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle.
