Asonye also called on leaders and stakeholders, to place the needs and interests of the people at the forefront of policy decisions and actions. He stated: “In our industry, which is inherently dynamic and multifaceted, it is easy to become engrossed in the intricacies of logistics, regulations, and operations. However, amidst the hustle and bustle of our daily activities, we must never lose sight of the fact that it is the dedicated efforts and unwavering commitment of our people that drive our success.

The labour leader reiterated that Union’s commitment towards championing initiatives that prioritize the well-being and advancement of members which according to him, includes advocating for fair wages, safe working conditions, and opportunities for professional development and growth, thus it also entails fostering a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and mutual respect within our ranks.
