A top official of the Nigeria Football Federation says the family of late Chineme Martins has refused an autopsy on the fallen footballer, while the investigative panel set up by the NFF to look into

the cause of the death of the Nasarawa United defender say medical reports show he had an abnormal heartbeat rate, The PUNCH reports.

A member of the committee, who spoke with our correspondent on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak with the media, said the player’s medical report before joining Nasarawa, which was sent to the committee, showed he had medical issues.“We cannot tell the cause of the death, the only way we can find out the cause is through autopsy or post-mortem and the family insisted that nobody should do it.

“Without that autopsy, we cannot be specific and say this is what killed him but the medical report, the pre-season medical report that the doctors in our committee saw, shows that he was not fit to play football at all. It showed that he used to have palpitations on a regular basis; it also showed that his heartbeat rate was abnormal. We can only speculate that that was the cause of his death but only the autopsy would have given us the real reason and there was none.

That means they killed him

Respect the family's wishes. It's a shame though. It would have been great to know the cause so as to forestall subsequent deaths.

Iz anyone thinking woram 🤔
